During the match process, ServiceCorps Fellows select Social Sector Partners to "Request To Interview."

ServiceCorps provides our Social Sector Partners with a list of Fellows who are interested in interviewing with them along with the following information:

  • Fellow bio
  • Fellow resume
  • Interest statement

Social Sector Partners determine which Fellows to extend an "Offer To Interview."

Interviews

ServiceCorps makes formal introductions between Fellows and the key contact(s) at Social Sector Partners via email.

It is the Fellows responsibility to reach out to key contact(s) to arrange the necessary "Fit" Interview.

Due to geographic and cost constraints, the majority of interaction between Fellow and Social Sector Partners will take place remotely. ServiceCorps continues to evaluate technology solutions to make "Fit" Interviews run as smoothly as possible, but for the time being, email and phone are the preferred methods of communication.

It is the Social Sector Partners responsibility to be responsive and to arrange any additional evaluation steps needed by their organization, such as: case studies, request for writing samples, Excel tests, additional applications, questions, etc.

ServiceCorps is available to help facilitate any aspects of the "Fit" Interview process as needed.

The interview guide below has some helpful suggestions for questions:

Mutual Matching

After the conclusion of the "Fit" Interviews, Social Sector Partners provide ServiceCorps with:

  • A ranking of the Fellow(s) they would like to extend a "Service Placement Offer"
  • The number of Fellows they would be willing to place

Simultaneously, Fellows provide ServiceCorps with:

  • A ranking of the Social Sector Partner organizations they would like to be placed with

ServiceCorps uses these mutual preferences to make a match.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

ServiceCorps Fellows and their placement Social Sector Partner organization work together to create a Memorandum Of Understanding. This signed document serves as the the de facto "job description" and is the basis for a transparent and collaborative Service Placement.

Contract

ServiceCorps and our Social Sector Partner organizations who are extending "Service Placement Offers" enter into a contract.
